Total Amount:Estimated Federal Funds Available: $250,000 to 300,000 in FY 2010; Estimated Total Federal Funds over 3 Years: $750,000 to $900,000; Estimated Number of Awards: one (1); Projected Start Date: March 1, 2009; Estimated Project Length: 36 Months; AoA will fund no more than 95% of the project’s total cost, which means the applicant must cover at least 5% of the project’s total cost with non-Federal resources.

Eligibility:Domestic public or private and non-profit entities including state and local governments, Indian tribal governments and org.'s, faith-based org.'s, community-based organizations, hospitals, and institutions of higher education. The successful applicant must have demonstrated expertise in working with LGBT populations in addition to documented experience in the provision of training and tech. asst. on a national basis or has a formal relationship with an organization that has this experience.
 
Purpose:To support the first step towards initiating a national dialogue on the unique needs of Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender elders. The grant will support a National Resource Center to assist local, state and national organizations with the information and technical assistance necessary to better serve the LGBT older adult community.
