| Purpose: | To encourage new career researchers or investigators with limited resources to complete well defined projects that can be completed within a two year period. Research projects of interest will fall into the following categories: (1) drug abuse treatment interventions, including interventions for patients with comorbidities, in diverse settings; (2) interventions to prevent the acquisition or transmission of HIV infection among individuals in drug abuse treatment; (3) interventions to promote adherence to drug abuse treatment, HIV and addiction medications; and (4) interventions to treat chronic pain. Specific examples include: 1) Stage I pilot or feasibility studies; 2) secondary analysis of existing data; 3) small, self-contained research projects; 4) development of research assessments or methodology; and 5) development of new research technology. |
