Total Amount:An unspecified amount of funding is available to grant three $5,000 cash awards through this program. In addition, five applicants will be selected by GAIN to attend the GAIN business Alliance Global Forum in May 2010. Award announcements will be made on February 17, 2009.

Purpose:To support innovative ideas that can be utilized to improve nutrition in undernourished populations worldwide. Innovations must be beyond the conceptual stage, and implementation of the idea should already have demonstrated success. Innovations should also be unique models of change that differ substantially from solutions already being employed to address global nutrition issues. The ability for the innovation to have broad social impacts, as well as a sustainability plan, will be important factors during the review process. This program is administered jointly with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition.
