| Purpose: | To promote family unity by providing low-income families with housing choice vouchers (HCV) that will allow them to remain living together. These vouchers are given to families that are in danger of having a child placed in out-of-home care because of a lack of adequate housing. Housing choice vouchers can also be used for individuals ages 18 to 21 that left foster care at age 16 or older and lack adequate housing. The following factors are used to determine eligibility for families and youth:
Lack of adequate housing
Substandard housing
Dilapidated housing
Homeless families
Displaced by domestic violence
Living in overcrowded housing

Determined to be in need by a child welfare agency
