Purpose:To support a research program which will look at the role drug use plays in HIV infection and transmission in vulnerable groups. The program will also support the development of interventions to prevent new infections and improve the health of those living with HIV/AIDS. Supported areas of research include: Epidemiological Prevention; Health services; Medical Consequences of Drug Abuse, HIV, and co-occurring infections; Clinical neuroscience; Developmental; Treatment and adherence; Clinical trials network; Basic neuroscience and behavior.
